OUR PART-TIME SITTERS:

KRISTEN HARRIS

I was born in Indianapolis, but grew up in western Michigan, along the shores of Lake Michigan, and learned to love the outdoors at a very young age. I've always loved both the hot sun and snow. I was very active outdoors and spent my spare time with the family pets.

I moved back to Indianapolis after graduating from Ball State, and for the last 18 years, I've worked in media and sports entertainment as a freelance graphic designer.

Currently, I'm single and have no kids or pets, but I'm seriously considering welcoming a new puppy into my home! On summer days, you can often find me on the road in my Jeep Wrangler, with its top off, singing along to country music. I enjoy landscaping my yard, and talking antiques with anyone who has the same passion.

As a pet sitter, I understand how crucial it is to treat your furry friends like family--they ARE family! I will communicate and listen to your wants and needs, so that I'm able to provide the best possible care. It would be my pleasure to make sure you AND your pets have peace of mind while you're away!

JANIS ABBE

I have been a Hoosier my whole life. I grew up in Carmel, graduated from IU many moons ago and now I am raising a family in McCordsville. I have been a stay at home mother for the last 8 years for our girls ages 8, 8, and 6. Our girls love anything animal-related and outdoors. We love hiking, creek stomping and camping. We have chosen to homeschool and love the freedom it allows us. It is a daily adventure in learning that keeps all of us on our toes. I love being able to take care of my family in this way, in this space and time.

My life has been blessed with cats, dogs, guinea pigs and horses over the years. We have always loved having pets in our home and part of our family’s daily living. After having our 18 year old doxy pair cross the rainbow in June, we welcomed a new puppy named Boo into our lives. He is a total joy. We are a dachshund family and just can’t live without one or two.

Petting sitting was attractive to me because it allows me to continue to stay in Mom-mode, just for some additional Fur children. I understand the trust it takes to open your home to someone and count on them to take care of someone precious to you. I take this responsibility seriously. I want to care for your pet in a way that keeps them safe and happy and you as worry-free as possible. It should feel like your pet just had a friend come by for social visit. Who doesn’t want to snag few extra snuggles and kisses during the day? (I will not be bringing my children when I visit your home.)
